THINGS TO DO TO REAL BEAUTY

Don’t brush you hair while it’s still wet
Your hair is weakest when it’s wet and brushing can break or damage it. If you have to untangle, use wide-tooth comb to get all knots out then let it dry naturally.

Be gentle around the eyes
They are the most sensitive parts of your face, so be careful when removing makeup or moisturizing. Avoid your eye area and only use specified formulas for this area.

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
Exfoliation gets rid of dead cells and oils that can block pores. For a luminous glow, exfoliate two to three times a week, normal skin once or twice a week, combination skin
once a week and oily skin every seven to 10 days.

Indulge your senses
Whether you are lathering on lotion or shampooing your hair, pick a scent that will lift your spirits. Opt to have different scented products for different moods, like a
fresh body wash for the morning and soothing lavender scented lotion just before bed.

Always have some colour
Whether it’s a swipe of blush, a bright bold lip colour or a cathing eye shadow, a touch of colour always adds an extra oomph.

Schedule in pampering time
Scribble it in, whether it’s a long bath or a home spa experience, always make time for yourself. Do it now!

Don’t forget your night routine
Your skin works over time to repair and rejuvenate even throughout the night. This makes your night time routine as important as the protection your day routine offers.

Thou shall moisturize!
Dry skin cause irritation leading to itchiness and redness. So moisturize well. Using a moisturizer that also helps protect your skin’s moisture barrier especially if you spend hours in air conditioned rooms.

Define your angle
Even if you don’t have the chiseled cheek bones of Alexa Chung, defining your angles is a must, in fact more so if you lack the blessed genes. The easiest way to call attention to your cheek, bones by sweeping blush just under the apples of your cheeks.
Condition your hair, not your scalp
The skin on your scalp in no different than the rest of your body and conditioner can block your skin from breathing because of its rich formulation. If you’ve got short hair, use sparingly and wash the conditioner out thoroughly.

~~more BUSTED MYTHS on health care~~

The more rigorous you brush your teeth, the better
Over-brushing can lead to gum recession, exposing the sensitive root and causing a lot of unpleasantness in your
mouth. Electric toothbrush can minimize the gum damage. You also can use a softer brush with a small head for gentler approach to your teeth.

Exercising before bedtime will make me tired and help me sleep
Regular exercise is a great way to stay fit and can be helpful for a good night’s sleep – as long as you avoid working out too near bedtime. Sleep experts at Sleepfoundation.org have cautioned people to avoid strenuous workouts right before sleep. Exercise raise your body temperature, gets your heart pumping and your body all alert, in this elevation state, which may last for up to six hours you would find it difficult to doze off.

I can catch-up on sleep during the weekends
New research from Pennsylvania State University suggests that it is not enough to play catch up on your snooze time during the weekends. While catching more Zs does help, the recovery is not complete and it may help some people but not others. The best way to make sure you get enough sleep during a work week is discipline. Many find that getting to sleep is not as difficult as you may think. Get yourself into bed and flip open book. You will be off to dreamland in no time.

Working out on an empty stomach burns more fat
When you exercise, your body burns calories from both fat and carbohydrates. Although studies have shown that working out on an empty tummy may burn a touch more fat calories, the overall result is pretty much the same. Working out on an empty stomach also means you have less energy to spend making you work out less,
inefficiently or make you more prone to injuries.

E-readers a worse for your eyes than books

If you’re worried about the effect it has on your eyes, don’t be “It’s common to think that e-readers are like computers,” says Alan Hedge, director of Human Factors and Ergonomics Laboratory at Cornell University, USA. “Tablets and laptops are known to cause eyestrain after long-term use but those screens are illuminated from behind and constantly refreshed, while new generation e-reader screens with electronic ink reflect light like paper”. If your eye get tired after reading, look away from screen, or increase the text size to reduce strain.

10 Rules To Beauty!

Rule #01: The perfect shade of foundation is not optional!
There is nothing worse than seeing pictures of yourself with two different shades. If there is a skill to perfect, it would be in the art of foundation make up. Get professional help if need be, but get it right.

Rule #02: Never pinch your pimples!
Not only your fingers can transfer bacteria to your face but the act of squeezing your zit can damage to the outer surface of the skin resulting in scarring.

Rule #03: Never leave home without sunblock!
The effects of the sun is accumulative but is almost irreversible. This is why you should always have protection even if it is a cloudy day as UV rays are still present.

Rule #04: Don’t’ use too many products at a go!
Even a non-sensitive skin can be turned around when you overuses products. The formulation of certain products may also react adversely with others, and the overload of chemicals on your skin doesn’t help the cause either. So use only what you need and only when needed.

Rule #05: Be kind to your brows, don’t over pluck them!
Full, thick brows are the biggest trend to hit the runaways. To avoid over plucking, take a step back every
few minutes to check your progress. Also, only pluck them after a warm shower when your pores are a little more open.

Rule #06: Don’t go to the bed with your makeup on!
Sleeping in your makeup will not only clog your pores, but can also prematurely age your skin.

Rule #07: Throw your old makeup out!
The chemical formulas can change once it’s past its due date. Product like mascara can irritate your eye and may lead to an infection.

Rule #08: Remember to clean your brushes!
At least once a week. Your brushes pick up oil, dirt and dead skin every time you use them and without a good wash it can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

Rule #09: Cleanse, but don’t over-cleanse!
Over-cleansing can strip away too much sebum. To compensate the loss your body will produce even more, leaving you with an oiler complexion then when you started.

Rule #10: Pamper your hair to!
For all the hair flips we do, your crowning glory sometimes doesn’t get more attention than the regular wash. To keep it healthy, shiny and flip-worthy, use a hair mask at least once a week.

Truths To True Style!

Lets go! Be gorgeous!

01
Wear one shade from head-to-toe
Here’s how you get away with wearing a monotone ensemble. Think in textures and layers like knit worn over chiffon and paired with denim. Single coloured looks are boring without the variety of tactile pieces.

02
Accessories are meant to be layered and layered and layered
Gold, silver, leather, beaded or charmed, the accessories of today are meant to be worn together and yes, all at once. Think of your necklaces in tier with the daintiest chain and pendant worn at its shortest and cover your wrist with a myriad of textures with your watch sandwiched in the middle.

03
The Little Black Dress is the answer to all
The eternal classic, the LBD is the past, present and future all sewn into one magnificent garment. Pick one in a classic cut and length then dress it up, or down, with simple accessory swaps.

04
Sneakers are not just for the gym
Who said style has to hurt? The ever-comfy kicks are best seen paired with short shift dresses and skinny above-the-ankle pants.

05
Clutches aren’t just for evenings
The square envelope clutch has paved its way to the daylight, especially those that pair with a tablet. Even the petite minaudiere has stepped out of the dark for some daytime fun, amping up casual looks with its palm sized pizzazz.

06
The perfect pair of jeans exists
Yes, the search for an ideal pair taxes even the most patient but the payoff is worth the effort. A good pair of jeans will flatter your but, lengthen your legs and are so comfortable you can sleep in them.

07
Sequins work for daytime
Blurring the conventional lines between what’s okay for day or night further, today’s dressing up sees sequins pencil skirts paired with sweatshirts or slogan tees. And why shouldn’t they be? A bright pop of bling looks brilliant when the sun hits.

08
Wear white any time of the year
The only time it’s not fine to do so would be at your best friend’s wedding. Have some class; she the bride, not you.

09
Horizontal stripes make you look thinner
In fact, the optical illusion applies for both vertical and horizontal prints; the truth lies in the space between the stirpes. Pick stripes with smaller gaps between the lines and it will make you appear taller and slimmer.

10
Pyjamas aren’t just for the bedroom
No, we don’t want you to step out in full sleepwear. Take the satin shirt and pants and pair them off as separates. That comfy silk shirt adds a luxurious note to jeans while those snoozy pants can perfectly anchor a sheer blouse.

here is ANOTHER 10 BUSTED myths on health care

A continue on the previous busted myths

# Myth 11
Running on treadmill is better than running on trek for your knees
Truth be told that running on any ground will give the same impact to your knees. If your friends say that running on treadmill give less impact on your knees than running on trek nay!! Forget 'em. Try friendlier form of exercises to prevent impact on your knees such as cycling, brisk-walking or swimming

#Myth 12
Heat makes injuries heal faster
Increased blood flow is the main factor that heals injuries. Due to that people tend to confuse that heat helps to heal injury as heat increases blood flow. They thought that heat heals injury as heat increases blood flow but they do not know that heat accelerate inflammation which worsen injury. The use of ice is better. Using ice enables the body to control the inflammation which results in avoiding swelling. The use of ice on the injured part results in blood rushing into that part which help to heal the injury faster.

#Myth 13
Crunches = Six-pack abs
A total bluff myth. True that countless crunches give you that solid muscle there at your abs but only with the combination of the right diet will only give you your dream abs. Crunches indeed strengthen your core but flabby abs will hide your hard-earned strengthened-core. So you need to combine both crunches and the right diet to get six pack as the right diet will help you to slim down your abs, thus your muscular abs can shine.

#Myth 14
Skipping breakfast helps to lose weight
Always remember this!!
Breakfast like a King,
Lunch like a Queen,
Dinner like a peasant.
Usually people who skip breakfast will cause excessive intake during lunch and dinner. The absence of breakfast cause you to have insufficient energy. As your lunch need to cope your need of energy since the start of the day because you skip breakfast, this will make you want more for dinner as you want to cover. Your lunch needs to cover your skipped breakfast then your dinner need to cover your what your lunch lacks and the dinner itself. This will cause you to eat more for dinner which is supposed to be very small in quantity. Plus no activity to be done during night, to add sleeping do not burn calories and these accumulated fats in your body because the energy you consumed from the food is not used and turned into body fats.

#Myth 15
The use of microwave kills nutrients
Microwaving always deemed as nutrient killers in food but researchers found that microwaving is the least damaging to nutrients in food. Microwaving is not a serious concern in term of nutrients deficiency in food.

Funny that we believe in so many things that we always thought to be the best way to do things. If you plan on dieting to slim down, I suggest you to make a little research first :)

10 Health Myths Busted (saje nk speaking petang2 ni :p)
Oke semua :) Myths tu ape? Myths=mitos oke bagi yg belum tahu la..

Myth 01 : Avoid eggs to cut cholesterol
It's true eggs contain cholesterol, but cutting them entirely from your diet won't do much to reduce your cholesterol levels. Most of the excess cholesterol comes from eating too much saturated fat like fatty cuts of meat, cakes, pastries and so on. Cut down on these and eat meals high in soluble fibre, such as oats and legumes.

Myth 02 : Milk enhances garlic breath
Scientist has found that milk actually neutralises some of the odour-producing compounds in garlic. The remedy works best if you drink some milk while you are savouring your favourite pasta or soon after.

Myth 03 : Meals served on bigger plates makes you eat less
Food served on a large plate can look empty and may prompt you to it fill up with extra sides. If the same amount is served on a smaller plate, the eye can trick your mind into thinking you’re eating more than you are.

Myth 04 : You’d be healthy if you avoid salt
Salt has a bad rep for causing all sorts of cardio-related problems. The truth is, like other minerals, salt is essential to our daily diet. Sodium is a mineral that regulates the fluid balance of the body. Studies have shown that eating too much salt may increase risks of developing a high blood pressure, but avoiding it totally would upset your natural body function.

Myth 05 : I don’t need to waste time stretching before run
Any experienced runner will tell you that stretching is essential to getting the most out your run. Dynamic stretching helps to stretch the muscles, encourage blood flow and wake up. So touch your toes, swing your hips and reach for the sky. All done and now you are ready to run!

Myth 06 : Going to bed hungry is better than eating dinner right before bed
It’s not advisable to go to bed hungry, says Melinda Johnson, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a hungry, restless night makes for grogginess the next day and could make you eat more as your body is craving for the calories for energy. “Try having a light calorie pre-bed snack that includes carbohydrate and protein,” suggest Michael Breus, PhD, author of The Sleep Doctor’s Diet Plan. The carbo-protien combo triggers the bbrain to produce serotin, a calming hormone that aids sleeping too.

Myth 07 : Lifting weight will stunt you
We use muscle to lift or press weights and the only instance where training could cause a person to shrink would be through injury or fracture of a bone. This myth possibly came about because some people may appear to shrink as they lift with poor technique which leads to muscular imbalance and postural deviance. Be sure your technique is right speak to a trainer and you’ll be ok.

Myth 08 : If I don’t exercise really hard, it’s a waste of time
Moderate exercise such as a brisk walk or dancing to your favourite tunes can be beneficial to your health. Even gardening for as little as an hour a week could reduce the risk of heart disease, so just imagine what taking taking the flight of steps up to the office or walking to the local grocery could do for you.

Myth 09 : I’m not fat or overweight, therefore I don’t need to exercise
Many people think the only objective of exercising is to lose weight. Physical activity not only helps you achieve that but it also gives energy, strengthens your body, gives you better posture, improves your mental fortitude including helping you to manage stress better.

Myth 10 : Vegetarians have a hard time building muscles
To build muscle, you need three consistent elements; stimulus from exercise, calories and nutrients to support muscle building and recovery. Vegetables are filled with slow-digesting carbs, a variety of minerals and vitamins regulate your body’s function helping you to stay storng and energized. Legumes, nuts, tofu, and bean sprouts are packed with protein and helps you build muscle.
